About Things to do in Monterrey
Monterrey, founded in 1596, became Mexico’s industrial capital in the late 19th century with brewing, glass and steel. The Fundidora steelworks closed in 1986 and became today’s park. The city is also a major destination for concerts, football at Estadio BBVA and Estadio Universitario, and events at Parque Fundidora. Summers are very hot; bring water and plan outdoor visits for the morning.
