About Huasteca Potosina
The Huasteca Potosina is the tropical, mountainous east of San Luis Potosí, home to Teenek and Nahua communities. Its rivers run over limestone, which gives the water its turquoise colour in the dry season. During the rainy season, roughly June to October, rivers carry sediment and can turn brown, and some activities close for safety. Easter week and summer holidays are the busiest times; book tours and rooms ahead.
